HAPPENINGS April 2009

Dates for many upcoming activities are listed,
Please note them on your Calendars!

The kitchen renovation project is coming along nicely. The top cabinets were taken down, new wiring and outlets were installed by an electrician and the back splash areas were covered with stainless steel. The cabinets were then cleaned and re-hung 12 inches higher, with under-cabinet fixtures (“let there be light”) ! What a difference!
This really created a nice open workspace on the fleishidic side, but a second refrigerator still needs to be acquired. Once finish work is complete, Barry will call a work day to re-organize kitchen items.

The construction work in the room behind the men’s bathroom is also finished. Considering what it looked like before, it will now be a able to function as a very clean and functional store room. Our "to-do" list is becoming more manageable, however, there are still projects to be financed and tackled with physical labor.

A second-night Seder was held with appx 18 people attending, even though according to policy, there were not enough paid reservations to do so. The board has made it clear that this would not be acceptable for future events. Barry did a miraculous job producing the delicious dinner in the short time available after the kitchen was made Kosher by Lou following the re-construction work.
Thank You
to Mike for picking up food items from Chicago, to Barry and everyone else who helped and attended.
